PROBLEM STATEMENT

COMPETITIVE AUDIT

Through competitive auditing, I have explored the strengths and weaknesses of our competitors. I also found out how competitors solve this problem.

Competitors’ weaknesses

  • 2 apps have an inactive community and 1 app doesn't have a community.

  • Instruction is only available in the English language (only 1 language).

  • Not new users’ friendly.

Opportunity

  • Both they and we have recorded instruction videos. Recorded videos can't motivate enough for the whole journey. So, I can come up with something more interactive and inspiring.

  • An active community is a fantastic way to inspire people to daily exercise.

  • We can make the app more accessible with multi-language.

PAPER WIREFRAME

It is best to start building ideas with pen and paper. It's very fast and we can make changes easily.

HIGH FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

I have made changes to my design according to the usability study and covert my lo-fi wireframe to a hi-fi wireframe.

Search & Filter

Based on insights from the usability study I have converted the search form to filter. Now users will see the recommendation partners on the first screen and can filter the list using the filter option. Also, I have divided the screen into two, recommended partner & recommended group.

Conversation

Users can see their partner's last message and the number of unread messages from the main screen without opening chat.

Schedule

Users can see their upcoming schedule details and count down from the home screen. Also, can take a few actions from the home screen.

The Icebreaker

Push users to start a conversation.

Scheduling Reminder

The app will recognize words like exercise, schedule, time, etc. from the first conversation of the users, and will ask the users to schedule exercise. This is a way to introduce the schedule feature.

Member Limitation

A group will not be allowed to have more than 8 members. Why? Think about an exercise class, if a class has many students then they can face the problem of interaction, communication gap, ignorance, prioritize, etc. therefore, our virtual exercising group can have a maximum of 8 members.

Learn Together with Video

For fitness guidance, users can watch training videos together during virtual exercising. Users can add fitness lessons from Nike video resources using the video library icon.

Video Controller

The training video will be just on the bottom so that users can watch the video and interact with each other at the same time.

Hide Video Controlller

Users with small screen devices can face problems with the video controller toolbar cause it will cover most of their screen. To avoid that I am adding a hide video controller option.

With the Nike Training Club app's new feature, users will be able to connect or find an exercise partner or an exercise club (Group), and they can exercise together.

GOAL STATEMENT

 USER RESEARCH

I conducted user interviews to find out the main reason why do people fail to accomplish their exercise goal while they have an amazing collection of fitness resources on the Nike Training Club App. I conducted user interviews with both people who are regular with exercise and who aren’t regular with exercise and tried to find out users' problems.

BRAINSTORMING

At the beginning of brainstorming, I came up with many ideas as much I can. But later, I evaluated and move forward with ideas that are technically possible and the best solutions for the users.

USABILITY STUDY INSIGHTS

I have conducted an unmoderated usability test with 5 users to see if our solution is the right fit for our users or not and got some important insights from the study.

Those insights are

  • Confusing to fill a form to find an exercise partner at the starting screen, so users need recommended exercise partner then filter option.

  • The search filter option is not enough to find the right exercise partner, therefore the Search filter needs more filter options like exercise type, language, etc. to find the right exercise partner.

  • A few of the users want their partners to be present physically, so users need both online and offline partner searching options.

  • A few users didn't know that the app has a scheduling feature, so notify or remind new users to schedule their exercise.

PROJECT PROCESS

USER PERSONA

From empathizing with our users I got some common answers to our questions. To define our user character I have created a user persona.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Nike Training Club app has a great collection of fitness training video resources of famous fitness trainers and athletes.
I took help from the Nike Training App to lead a fitness life but I couldn't continue for more than a week and this is not the first time or not just about only me. So I decided to find the main reason behind this and solved it by creating an interactive fitness-friendly environment on the Nike Training App.

PROJECT GOAL & CHALLENGE

Help users to include long-term fitness goals in their daily routine.

CURRENT DESIGN

I have checked how the current design trying to solve my targeted group's problems. The feed section has a community tab where the users can connect with their friends and cheer on your shared progress post. Nike's current video resources are recorded. It can't motivate my targeted group for a long time. A user not going to watch new videos every day. Watching the same video every day can train you but can't motivate that focus group.
